ARTIST STATEMENT & BIO

Rebecca Volynsky is an artist, muralist, and entrepreneur based in Portland, Maine. As a first-generation American born in Providence, Rhode Island, she brings a unique perspective to her artistic endeavors. She is the founder of RVOL Creative, LLC, combining her artistic talent with business acumen.

Her artistic range encompasses everything from small canvas paintings to large-scale murals, all centered around a mixed media approach to abstract painting. Through her work, she explores themes such as personal growth, mental health, and resilience. They are conveyed in emotive compositions featuring organic shapes, lines, and textured elements crafted from various mediums, including paint and collage.

These compositions carry a dynamic energy, reflecting a controlled yet vibrant presence. In addition to traditional painting techniques, Rebecca integrates printmaking, assemblage, bookmaking, and embroidery into her work, enriching her artistic expression.

Her creative process mirrors mindfulness, allowing her pieces to evolve and mature over time. Drawing from her own mindfulness journey, Rebecca aims to leave a positive impact on viewers through her art.

Her small business, RVOL Creative, LLC., specializes in thoughtfully designed interior and exterior murals for commercial and residential clients across New England. These transformative creations not only enhance brand identity but also contribute to the ambiance and economic vitality of spaces. With a background encompassing fund development, communication, administration, design, and marketing, Rebecca brings over 5 years of experience in mural creation, overseeing every project aspect with meticulous attention to detail.

Commissioning a custom mural or artwork extends beyond aesthetics, providing intrinsic and strategic value. Murals can attract foot traffic, embody brand values, foster community, and boost economic prospects.
